PlayStation Move Racing Wheel offers double the accuracy of a DualShock

first_imgFor anyone who takes their racing games seriously, whether it’s LittleBigPlanet Karting or Gran Turismo 5, Sony has created a new wireless wheel that is powered by PlayStation Move.Despite its strange shape, the peripheral is highly versatile and its creator, SCEA research and developer engineer Anton Mikhailov, says it’s twice as accurate as a DualShock controller, meaning you should be able to shave some time off your laps.Like the DualShock, it has rumble feedback, too. In fact, it has two rumble motors, one either side to balance out the feeling of the controller. A PS Move controller sits in the center of the device and powers the entire thing–no batteries required! Most conventional racing wheels currently available in the shops are designed to sit on a table or desk in front of you, meaning you don’t have to hold anything up in the air. But apparently this Move controller won’t be uncomfortable to hold for long periods of time. Mikhailov said he play tested the controller for four hours without getting tired, so it must be quite light. That may act as a negative though, and I hope the rumble motors add just enough weight and feedback to add something to the driving experience. If you’re not a fan of racing cars and prefer bikes instead, this controller is just as good for you. The grips fold out into a handlebar shape. It even has a twist throttle on the right grip which is connected to the rumble so it feels more like a real motorbike input. It’s also designed to be suitable for flight simulators, so wannabe pilots watch this space. The controller will support a variety of PlayStation games, but the ones confirmed as having support include: Gran Turismo 5, LittleBigPlanet Karting, Motorstorm Apocalypse, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, and Burnout Paradise. The PlayStation Move Racing Wheel is coming to North America this autumn for $39.99 making it significantly cheaper than your typical racing wheel.via PlayStation Bloglast_img read more
