MS Dhoni tunes up for England tour with low-profile nets session

first_imgMS Dhoni, far away from the media glare, got down to training at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.The former India captain, along with a few of India’s limited-overs specialists, underwent a Yo-Yo test at the same venue on Friday, June 15. Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu were among the players who took the fitness test last week.Rayudu failed the Yo-Yo test and was replaced by Raina in the ODI squad.Dhoni, who was in top form during the 2018 IPL and scored 455 runs besides leading Chennai Super Kings to their third title, reached the NCA with throwdown expert Raghu and India pacer Shardul Thakur.Siddharth Kaul also joined the party later.Also read – India in England: Suresh Raina to replace Ambati Rayudu for ODI seriesNews agency PTI reported Dhoni faced hundreds of deliveries, 70 per cent of which were throwdowns.Dhoni perhaps waited for the media attention to die down after the Afghanistan Test. He would call up Shardul and ask him about his imaginary field placements.Shardul was seen pointing at imaginary field positions like mid-wicket, extra cover and deep fine leg.
