Advertisement AdvertisementThe enthusiasm amongst the cricket fans is at the peak with the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 just a few days away. Getting their hands on the World Cup trophy is what all the cricketing nations desire and strive for. With the tournament all set to commence from the 30th of May, the preparations are more or less all sorted for all the teams. All the teams have released their jerseys that their players will be donning in the mega event. Here we rate the jerseys of all the ten participants10. Australia – 6/10The Cricket Australia had unveiled the official jersey for the Australian Cricket team a month ago. The jersey draws inspiration from the retro design donned by the Aussie players in the 1987 World cup. The side has been leaning towards their retro designs off-late which was also observed during Australia’s tour of India. However, the jersey got a lot of criticism from the fans as they did not like the colour combinations used in the jersey as they feel the lime yellow and the green shades do not compliment each other.9. South Africa – 6/10South Africa will be hoping to break free from the chokers tag that has been associated with them. The jersey unveiled by them comprised of their greens with the shades of light and dark green. However, what caught people’s attention was the black used on the sleeves of the jersey which did not please the fans.8. West Indies – 6.5/10West Indies have chosen not to make any changes or alterations in their jersey. The Carribean team will be seen in their usual maroon jersey in the tournament. Their Jersey is very minimalistic, to say the least, which will have people divided over it. They will be looking to make an impact in the tournament and will be backing themselves with the strong side that they have built.7. Afghanistan – 6.5/10The Afghan’s are one more team to not make any changes in their existing design for the event. Interestingly they have also kept an alternate jersey which has their usual blue shade with a lot of red combined with it. Afghanistan will play a two-match ODI series of two games against Ireland.6. Bangladesh – 7/10The Bangladesh Cricket Board earlier had revealed the world cup kit that the players would use. However, it stirred controversy amongst the Bangladeshi fans as the jersey was dominated by the colour green and hence looked very similar to that of Pakistan’s. Due to the backlash faced, the board had to assure the fans of a new jersey, which was later shared on social media which had a red patch where the country’s name was printed in bold.5. Pakistan – 7/10The Pakistan team which already is in England for an ODI series against the World Cup hosts are donning their traditional greens for the event. Their jersey has impressed their fans with black diagonal stripes and their signature yellow star over it.4. India – 8/10The Indian team’s jersey for the mega event was released on the 1st of March and has been the talk of the town ever since. Fans have been vocal about the jersey as they are not satisfied with the two blue shades that have been used in it. A lot of fans have also urged the BCCI to go for the retro design inspired by the Aussies. However, despite the mixed response, we are impressed with it as it looks quite elegant and packs a punch.3. Sri Lanka – 8/10The Sri Lankan Jersey has already received a lot of praise from the cricket fraternity ever since its release. The reason for it is that it has been made from recycled oceanic plastic collected around the beaches of the country. They want to promote the safety of aquatic animals through the move as they also have a turtle designed over it.2. New Zealand – 8.5/10The Kiwis jersey is one of the best jerseys across the cricketing nations and has always been loved by the fans. The black caps are yet to win the world title yet, however, they would be looking to go all guns blazing to register their first ever successful world cup campaign in their signature black kit.1. England – Not Yet Released England team’s jersey is set to be unveiled on the 21st of May. England who is also the host for the World Cup is currently hosting Pakistan for an ODI series. The list will be updated post the release of the jersey. Stay tuned for that.
