Kolkata: A blast took place inside a BJP worker’s house at Khejuri in East Midnapore on Sunday night.Local residents ran to the house and found a man lying inside the house with severe injuries. According to sources, residents of Katkadebichak at Janaka village in Khejuri heard a sound of an explosion on Sunday night. When they came out of their houses, they saw smoke coming out of Lalmohan Maity’s house. Khejuri police station was immediately informed. Police reached the spot and started investigating the matter. Local Trinamool Congress leaders alleged that Maity, who is a BJP worker, used to store explosives and crude bombs and supplied them to other people. It is also alleged that after Lok Sabha Elections result was out, the BJP was trying to unleash terror in and around Khejuri by creating violence. Police said a case has been lodged in this regard. Officers are trying to find out the people who are connected to Maity. Police are trying to identify the source of explosives and crude bombs which were stored inside the house. Police team is patrolling the area to counter any untoward incidents. “Probe is on. A few persons have been detained in this connection. They are being interrogated to identify other culprits,” said V Solomon Nesakumar, Superintendent of Police (SP) of East Midnapore.
